Equestrian
Elementary Cover: 30 days – 16 years
- Death or destruction on humane grounds from any accident sickness or disease, limited theft.
- Also: $3,500 of Colic Surgery with no additional premium. (A $500 excess applies)
- Any horse that has had colic symptoms prior to inception date will not be covered for any losses associated with colic.
- Transits within and between New Zealand and Australia.
Advanced Cover: Ages 6 months - 16 years
- Death or destruction on humane grounds from any accident sickness or disease, limited theft.
- Also: $5,000 (to a maximum of the sum insured) of reasonable medical and surgical charges necessitated by accident, injury or illness. (A $500 excess applies)
- Transits within and between New Zealand and Australia.
Grand Prix Cover: Ages 4 – 16 years
- Death or destruction on humane grounds from any accident sickness or disease.
- Also: veterinary fee costs up to $10,000 (to a maximum of the sum insured) with a $1,000 excess,
- Plus Permanent Loss of Use by Accident ONLY. Settlement based on 50% if you elect to keep the horse in retirement or 75% of the sum insured should the horse be put down.
- Transits within and between New Zealand and Australia.
Superior Cover: Ages 4 -16 years
- Death or destruction on humane grounds from any accident sickness or disease.
- Also: veterinary fee costs up to $10,000 (to a maximum of the sum insured) with a $1,000 excess,
- Plus Permanent Loss of Use by Accident, illness or disease. Settlement based on 50% if you elect to keep the horse in retirement or 75% of the sum insured should the horse be put down.

Foals
- Foals can be insured from 24 hours of age for an annual period.
- Transits within and between New Zealand and Australia.
Transit Cover
- Mortality coverage whilst the horse is transiting between countries.
Stallion Infertility Clause
- In the event your proven stallion becomes permanently infertile from accident, sickness or disease, you will be paid 100% of the indemnity due under the mortaility policy.
Veterinary Certificate Requirements
- Any horse that has received veterinary treatment in the past 12 months.
- Stage 1 & 2 Vet Certificates for horses valued at $50,000 and above.
- Stage 5 Vet Certificate including x-rays for any horse requiring the superior cover.
- Horses under 30 days and 15 years and over.
